Qualification Requirements for MAHA TET 2025 (Classes 1–5)

Candidate must earn a two-year diploma in elementary education from a recognised institution and pass the Higher Secondary test with at least a 50% score (D. T. Ed.).

OR the candidate must pass a recognised board with a minimum of 45 percent of the marks required by the National Council of Teacher Education (Regulations 2002) and complete a one-year Bachelor of Education programme.

Candidate must pass a higher secondary test with at least 50% on a certified exam board and complete four years of Bachelor of Elementary Education.

The candidate must have completed a 4-year B.A./ B.Sc. Ed or BA Ed/ B.Sc. Ed programme and received a minimum of 50% in the Higher Secondary exam from a recognised examination board.

OR

Candidates must have a B.Ed. (special education) degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 50%.

MAHA TET SUMMARY

The Teacher Eligibility Test, or TET, is the minimal qualification necessary in India for recruitment as a teacher in Classes I through VIII. For teaching employment in government schools in India, the test is required. Paper 1 is for instructors of grades I through V, and Paper 2 is for teachers of grades VI through VIII.
